Dear Parents / Carers

I am delighted to inform you that the final Ofsted inspection report from our recent two-day fully graded Section 5 inspection on April 10th and April 11th accompanies this covering letter. The report will also be accessible via the Academy website shortly and will be published on the official Ofsted website within the next five working days. The inspection team used Ofsted’s full framework to grade the school for each of the key judgement areas (quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, sixth form provision and leadership and management) and for its overall effectiveness.

It gives me great pleasure to share that His Majesty’s Inspector and their accompanying team of Ofsted inspectors concluded that Hamstead Hall Academy is a GOOD school with OUTSTANDING leadership and management. I am delighted that the hard work undertaken by the Academy and trust staff has been recognised, including the comments regarding our work on inclusiveness, diversity, harmony and our drive for the highest standards and expectations. The high ambition and impact of our curriculum was evident. Our pupils receive a high quality of education, underpinned by strong pastoral care characteristics. The wider curriculum offer promotes equality of opportunity and as a result, pupils understand, appreciate and respect differences in the world and its people. I was also very pleased that the inspection team recognised that all pupils are encouraged to participate in activities to extend their learning beyond the classroom. This is testament to an extremely dedicated staffing body who work tirelessly to ensure our pupils receive the very best education including capitalising on the many wonderful opportunities that we are often gifted.

The report itself is very detailed and highlights the many elements of effective provision at Hamstead Hall Academy as well as the next steps needed to take the Academy forward. What is very satisfying is that the next steps identified were already within our development plan prior to this inspection and the associated adaptations are already being implemented. This now provides us with a platform and foundation to build on and we will continue to take Hamstead Hall Academy on a journey to even greater success.

Please take the time to read the inspection report in full as it evidences an academy that is not only good, but one that continuously strives to improve and excel. This is an excellent report, particularly at a time when the benchmark for ‘Good’ is at the highest level. The Ofsted inspection was thorough, robust and professionally rigorous. The leadership team and I were open and transparent around all aspects of Academy life and had much evidence to support the inspection process.

I am particularly pleased that Ofsted recognised the journey of improvements and our ambition for excellence since the last inspection and I would like to thank the parents / carers who have and who continue to support the Academy. I have always advocated a strong partnership with parents / carers and our community for the betterment of our pupils. Once again, may I thank all of those involved in the inspection itself, especially the staff, governors, trust board and the pupils who shone during the inspection process and continue to make a positive contribution to Academy life.

Yours Sincerely

Mrs Carla Tranter
